Broken Frontier Award

Hello!

This is David, the editor, back with another update!

Let’s start with the most important thing: At the time of this posting, Samidoon has earned and sent over $1500 USD to the Palestine Red Crescent Society! With your help, if we sell out of the first print run, that’ll be about another $1000 USD, plus whatever money from our digital editions!

Secondly, all orders should be fulfilled. There are still a few contributors who haven’t yet received their copies (and we’re aware), but if you ordered any copy of the book, it should already be with you. If you’ve experienced any sort of issue, please let us know by emailing us at samidoonanthology@gmail.com

Now, we’re also very happy to announce that the book has been recognized with an award. It received the Broken Frontier award for Best One-Shot Anthology for 2025. You can read more about it here! We are all incredibly honored to have our work recognized.

We would also like to call out and congratulate one of our contributors, Mohammad Sabaaneh, for winning the award for Best Graphic Non-Fiction for his book, 30 Seconds from Gaza: Diary of Genocide. Congratulations, Mohammad.

We’d also like to extend our congratulations to all other winners, but particularly Cartoonists for Gaza, another comic-based initiative raising money and telling Palestinian stories, for their win of Best Webcomic, and to Safaa Odah for winning Best One-Shot for Safaa and the Tent: Diary from a Cartoonist from Gaza Oct 2023-Dec 2024.

We were also fortunate in receiving a very kind review from Broken Frontier separate from the award.

Thank you all for your support so far.
